Art 4 Heart

Art 4 Heart! Do your part in helping to relieve the devastation of the recent floods in Queenland, Australia by bidding on some of the handmade creations donated by generous Australian artists. All proceeds from this online auction will go directly to the QLD Premier’s Flood Relief Appeal. It is open to anyone, anywhere in the world, so do some good to help those in need while scoring yourself some artwork in the process.

1. Drawn back in august when i had moved out of home and missed my cat alot.
2. Drawn roughly around the same time, whilst sitting at the kitchen table with two friends and plans to make a zine.

Dita Von Teese

Lately, my main source of inspiration has been 1950's pin up girls, art deco statuettes and the ever lovely burlesque queen Dita Von Teese. Apart from being fond of her divine sense of style and rather sweet demeanour, i am fascinated by her vast and sparkly shoe collection, her boudoir decorated with art deco mannequins - oh and ms Von Teese even has a pink kitchen! Too delicious! Usually i'm dreaming about parading around in marabou heels and being ever so glamorous but it's becoming quite the obsession. (money should be saved and not spent on lipstick and high heels when you're hunting for your own apartment.) It's intriguing to see someone live such a decadent and fanciful lifestyle, and makes me think that perhaps one day i will be able to have my own pastel kitchen and that's a very exciting thing.

Playing around with the watercolour paints my mum handed down to me.
Just messy, experimental stuff - i'm trying to be less rigid with my use of paint, and trying to learn how to let it take its own course. (embrace the blending and meshing and spontaneity.)

I fear my life would be rather lonely without midnight movies on tv.
fun fact - They used to airbrush Kate's freckles away in publicity stills and the thick white greasepaint she wore in films obscured them too. What a shame, her speckles are lovely.
