number 3.

cat clock

My third fashion illustration for thevine.com.au.
This time, it's the pastelly goodness of Karla Spetic.
I had the pleasure of seeing this collection paraded down the runway at fashion week, and indeed it was a treat. This season, pastel suits are on show against an assortment of photographic prints that depict the australian outback. I've collaborated with Karla in the past, so was very happy when her clothes were assigned to me for this project.

I like to imagine that when the cat clock strikes the hour, it plays an assortment of cat themed tunes. (perhaps not the dreadful 'what's new pussycat'.)

two

Here is the second girl in my series of fashion illustrations for thevine.com.au.
This time, the clothes are by Australian label Birthday Suit. The makeup is based on what the models adorned their faces with at the debut of the last collection. (Blue eyebrows, i'm going to have to try that myself sometime.) This season Birthday Suit created a special range of contrasting outfits - bubble dresses with hints of sunset colour - and harnesses that remind me of red licorice rope. pretty delish.

& a commissioned illustration for Notebook magazine.
It accompanied an article about stockbroking from home.

Once i pull myself out of the doldrums, there'll be some new projects to reveal.
On the plus side, I'll be 21 next weekend. birthday cake and balloons.

wardrobe rummage sale

Well, i'm emptying out my closet and saying a tearful goodbye to my collection of vintage clothing.
in order to restock my new etsy shop with pricey giclee prints, i need to make a pretty big investment, and because money doesn't appear to grow at the bottom of my purse whenever i wish, i have to make some kind of sacrifice.
perhaps you'll be nice and adopt one of these dresses!
i'll be adding new items to my ebay page every day for the next few weeks, including a green velvet dress that would make Heidi weep with joy, a champagne silk 60's twin set of swing jacket and wiggle dress, a black velvet ice skating skirt, an organza fascinator and red patent leather wedge shoes. among other gems!

p.s. i pinky promise there will be some new paintings coming soon.
i'm rather fond of drawing people in the bath lately.
so perhaps there'll be some suds and rubber ducks and peach pink glowing skin.

Romance Was Born

Romance Was Born

If you know me then you know the love i have for beautiful dresses...
(vintage chiffon dreamboats, kitschy handmade party dresses covered in kiss prints, floorlength black mourning gowns, velvet Audrey Horne attire, pastel cotton day dresses, see through silk slips, lace trimmed sleeves, rhinestone buttoned wriggle dresses...and the list goes on...)
so i was over the moon when recently commissioned to create a set of five illustrations for thevine.com.au , to coincide with Rosemount Australian Fashion Week. Luckily having been able to attend a small selection of shows, inspiration was already abundant.
First up is Romance Was Born, one of Australia's most unique fashion labels, manned by Luke Sales and Anna Plunkett. Their latest collection is a zany acid tinted romp through prehistoric jungles. (i spy a volcano dress!) The gem clustered, paint splattered, triceratops inspired collection certainly is a revelation for the wardrobe and i'm very much a fan.

p.s. Each thursday during the month of june, thevine.com.au will reveal a new fashion week illustration of mine.
keep your eyes peeled!

Disband paintings

Three paintings that i created especially for the Disband exhibition that was held at Ambush gallery over the weekend. All inspired by break-ups and partings and disillusionment.
These framed paintings are now available to buy at Leeloo.com.
